NAMED A FINALIST SELECTION BY BEYOND THE CURVE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.

The pandemic has caused many disruptions, one being in-person company rehearsals. In our efforts to cope with the ongoing circumstances, ETD has come together in the virtual world to create a new repertory work titled Uncharted Territory.

Uncharted Territory is for everyone affected by the chain-reactions caused in 2020, especially New Yorkers.

ETD Artistic Director Eryc Taylor and special guest speaker Robbie Fairchild hosted the virtual premiere of Uncharted Territory: Dancers in Isolation Project Film on Sunday, March 21, 2021! The film's premiere was the inaugural Uncharted Territory performance and took place on the first anniversary of the project's conception. 

“The piece was masterfully edited by filmmaker Benny Krown in a way that makes it look like it wasn’t masterfully edited. However, most miraculous to me is the score. Specifically commissioned by ETD and created by Daniel Tobias, ETD’s composer in residence, the music is more than simply background music, but it doesn’t get in the way. On the contrary, the music both reflects the action and moves it forward, and, if nothing else, adds a sense of professionalism to something that’s not supposed to look that way.” - CriticalDance
