Nhyira Oforiwaa Asante (she/her) is a Ghanaian-American dancer, choreographer, and model based in New York City. Originally from the Bronx, she graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.F.A. in dance from the Tisch School of the Arts and a B.A. in sociology from the College of Arts and Sciences. Her passion for movement began at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she majored in dance.

Nhyira refined her craft at institutions such as the Dance Theatre of Harlem School, The Ailey School, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, MOVE|NYC|, Ballet Hispánico, and HAMU in Prague. She has performed works by choreographers including Robert Garland, Jamar Roberts, Sidra Bell, Trisha Brown, and Bill T. Jones. Additionally, she was featured in Jacolby Satterwhite's digital installation, An Eclectic Dance to the Movement of Time, at Lincoln Center.

As a choreographer, Nhyira's work has been presented at festivals such as Battery Dance and Forza Dance. In 2022, she earned the Upsurge Dance Festival choreographic mentorship with Sidra Bell for her solo "Oheema." She has also been an associate choreographer for the Stephen Sondheim Awards and a research fellow for Sidra Bell's MODULE program. Beyond the stage, Nhyira has worked with brands and artists like Kaliii, Travis Scott, SNIPES USA, and Amika and currently serves as a Junior Mentor for the Arts Bootcamp with the New York City Department of Education and Lincoln Center Education.
