I learned a lot about the importance of breath work from Karen Hakobian and the power of our voices and vibrations (definitely will be continuing to practice when I feel anxious. I LOVED learning the Factory/Refractory phrases from Sashlie and Taylor because they each had very different teaching styles yet they still made everything look and feel cohesive. Learning the Adagio was probably my favorite especially when we (the dancers and I) did it facing each other and in all different directions, it helped with eye contact and made me feel a lot more connected to the dancers. Finally, I loved learned the business side of dance from Fran Kirmser! It taught me so much and gave me more insight into my current exploration with dance.

TAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE WORKSHOP

My favorite part of the workshop was creating movement from our drawings/memories. I did similar work in college and I really enjoyed practicing these skills and learning something new.
Including the different art forms into the process of choreographing is a great way to further articulate and develop our thoughts/visions.
— Gabriela Marx
I loved the difference in the morning and beginning sessions. There was a diversity in intention and style that allowed to be better understand what the company stands for. I think starting with breathe allowed me to reset and clear my head for the abundance of information to come.
