DAMONTAE’S CHOREOGRAPHIC STYLE DESCRIBED IN 3 WORDS:

BOLD | TRANSFORMATIVE | UNCONVENTIONAL

Damontae Hack (he/him) is a 26-year-old artist from Baltimore, MD, now based in New York City. A 2020 graduate of the California Institute of the Arts with a degree in dance, Damontae is a choreographer, director, dancer, and model dedicated to redefining art through a bold Black Queer lens.

His work pushes boundaries, exploring the physicality of bodies, intimacy, and the evolution of human consciousness over time through cinema, choreography, photography, and voice. Drawing inspiration from his collaborations with groundbreaking artists like Solange Knowles, Ralph Lemon, Pina Bausch, and rubberlegz, Damontae blends influences from ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and site-specific work to create transformative artistic experiences.

Now stepping into prominent roles as a director and choreographer, Damontae is driven by a passion to challenge perceptions and open new dialogues in art. His mission is to create work that lingers in the minds of audiences, forever reshaping how they see the world.
