DANCERS FOR GOOD BENEFIT FOR THE ACTORS FUND at Guild Hall East Hampton
broadway world Review | JULY 25, 2018
"A benefit in the summer in East Hampton may hardly seem newsworthy, for the season is overloaded with cocktails or dinner under tents where everyone gets dressed to the nines and opens up their hearts (and wallets) to one worthy cause or another. But amongst the plethora of glitzy galas stands one glittering crown-jewel -- Dancers For Good....Where else could one see heavyweights like Paul Taylor and Martha Graham Dance Companies and discover new favorites such as Eryc Taylor Dance or Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company all under one roof? It's as if you subscribed to an a la carte tasting from the Joyce Theater, City Center, BAM and Lincoln Center all in one evening and knew the tickets would aid in the performers' continued well-being."

A POSTCARD FROM ERYC TAYLOR
Dance Enthusiast | October 9, 2017
Chaise Lung is a dark comedy tango piece I choreographed in collaboration with chorographer Laura Peterson and performed in 1992 at the The Kunsthaus Tacheles in East Berlin, Germany. The revival of Chaise Lung makes it the oldest piece in ETD repertory and coincidentally, the most difficult to re-stage, choreograph, set, and rehearse.
Last year, while doing some dreaded spring cleaning, I happened to find an old, dusty VHS tape supposedly containing the original performance of Chaise Lung, at the Kunsthaus Tacheles. Fast forward a month (and a film store visit) and I found myself watching the salvaged performance, complete with white noise and reverb like a true VHS recording should be from 1992...
ERYC TAYLOR: MUSIC FOR CONTEMPORARY
DANCE TEACHER | OCTOBER 1, 2017
The founder and artistic director of Eryc Taylor Dance not only choreographs for and directs the company he started 11 years ago, he also works with composer to create original music. "I try not to use prerecorded music anymore," says Taylor. "All the music is from the original composers." From classical to electronic, he's collaborated with composer Gerald Busby, who created music for Paul Taylor's Runes (1975), and with London-based electronic DJ Swarm Intelligence on a new piece, Cycles.

MOVEMENT OF THE PEOPLE
Basements, brownstones, luxury buildings – inside, an army of creative New Yorkers working their asses off chasing the dream. Pass MiMA, on W42nd Street, and you’d assume it was just another residential high-rise. But enter its glossy lobby, take the elevator, follow a meandering corridor, and you find yourself in the mother ship of a contemporary dance company with its heart in the community...
