ERYC TAYLOR DANCE AT BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN TWILIGHT TUESDAYS - JULY 16, 2019:
Eryc Taylor to perform the first section of EARTH along with three invited guest choreographers who are past recipients of the Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) New Choreographer Grant, Robert Mark Burke, Jordan Ryder and Gierre Godley will also present at Twilight Tuesdays on Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8:30pm. The three young choreographers are part of a team of five selected by Artistic Director Eryc Taylor to contribute choreography to EARTH, a new, collaborative seven-part dance production addressing the crisis of global warming. EARTH, in its entirety, will premiere in late 2019.
The July 16 Twilight Tuesdays program will open with the first three works created for the EARTH series -Eryc Taylor’s “The Big Bang”, Robert Mark Burke’s Earth is Created and Jordan Ryder’s Man is Born - both to be presented in site-specific performances including the third work in the series by choreographer Gierre Godley’s Civilizations Rise, set to a commissioned score by composers Solomon Lerner and Daniel Tobias. The production of EARTH is made possible by a generous matching grant from the Marta Heflin Foundation and in part with public funds from Creative Engagement, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC).
The ETD New Choreographer Grant is a platform offering young, aspiring NYC-based choreographers the funds needed to create and present a new dance work.
