ETD Outreach June Instructor Highlight: Kyleigh Sackandy / by Andrew Tran

This month ETD Outreach wants to highlight Kyleigh Sackandy! Kyleigh holds a BFA in Dance Performance from SUNY Purchase College, Conservatory of Dance and an M.S in Dance/Movement Therapy from Sarah Lawrence College. She is a registered dance/movement therapist (DMT) and is pursuing her License in Creative Arts Therapy. Kyleigh works as a DMT with children and adults with developmental disabilities, elder adults in memory care, and children who have experienced domestic violence. Her training also includes DMT with children and adults with mental illness in inpatient and outpatient settings. Kyleigh has been teaching dance and dancing professionally since 2008 and continues her practice as a teacher and performer. She currently teaches dance in Queens, NY and is a company dancer in Ariel Rivka Dance.

With ETD Outreach, Kyleigh teaches at one of our sites with Acacia and is an extremely engaging instructor. Her workshops begin with a warm-up and end with mindful breathing exercises that relax her participants and ease them back into reality. Kyleighs strong knowledge of dance and understanding of the body makes her a invaluable asset to our team!
